Hey! I'm Nina, and I'm a singer, actor, composer-lyricist, playwright, and student. I'm originally from northern New Jersey, where I attended the Bergen County Academies with a concentration in theatre. I'm currently working towards a BFA in musical theatre at Boston Conservatory, and in the fall, I'll begin pursuing my MFA at NYU for musical theatre writing. I am a proud member of AEA and the Dramatist's Guild.
Previous musicals for which I've done book, music, orchestration and lyrics include “AMERICAN SIREN” (previously known as “SIREN”), which received a full production through Boston Conservatory’s student works program in April 2022 and was an O’Neill NMTC semifinalist the same year; “A Love Story (With Supernatural Roadblocks)”, which appeared in the Emerging Artists Theatre’s New Works Series in 2019 after receiving a reading and workshop; and “Monster”, which was set to appear in the New York Theater Festival in July 2020. This past August, 54Below presented "The Songs of Nina Osso", a concert of songs from three musicals I've written, and this summer, I'll be one of ten young songwriters attending the inaugural Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriting Intensive at Snow Pond Center for the Arts. I'm a moderator for Maestra Music's Student Maestra affinity group.
Onstage: some of my favorite roles include Julia in Matthew Dunster's adaptation of “1984”, Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde”, the Alto in the Angel City 4 in "City of Angels", and Lady Larken in “Once Upon a Mattress”. I recently made my Boston regional theatre debut as Shelby in SpeakEasy Stage Company's production of The Prom. I've also had the privilege of taking on roles in new works in readings, workshops and first performances, including Lumina in Pamela Winslow-Kashani and Tim Kashani's musical "Winter Lights". I was a Top 10 finalist in Playbill's Search For A Star competition in 2021.
I love cooking, sewing, traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, dogs and chickens. Aaand to answer the real questions: I'm a Taurus sun, Virgo moon, Leo rising, and INFP-A.
